Coach Mac Bryan

Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?

A: We lost a very good senior class that was a big part of 30 wins in the last three years. This year’s team will have good talent, but they’ll lack game experience in a number of areas.

Q: What will be the keys to your success?

A: Staying healthy and having a great summer workout period.

Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A: Team leadership must come from our senior class.

Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A: Good team speed and large numbers.

Q: What will keep you up at night?Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 2.28.49 PM

A: We return three starters on offense and three on defense. Lack of experience is a concern.

Q: What can you build on from last year?

A: Team unity and experience.

Q: Any lessons learned from last year?

A: Last year, our team won the region for the third year in a row and went to the third round of the playoffs. We hope to build a tradition of winning.

Q: Will we see anything different this year?

A: Each team is different, but our base schemes will stay the same.

Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A: Our overall team speed is very good. We have talent on defense, but we need to see who the playmakers will be.

Coach’s View

This year’s schedule is very strong. Riverdale provides a great challenge for a young team in week one. The region will be even more balanced with a number of teams returning quality players, so our success depends on having a great spring and summer. Another key is some younger players learning to deal with adversity when it appears, which last year’s team did very well.
