Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?

A. Re-energized! After a rough 2018 season, I believe these guys have a new energy and are ready for a fresh start.

Q. What will be the keys to your success?

A. Confidence. Getting back to the fundamentals and knowing we are a good team with good players.

Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A. Eli Evans (QB/DB), Miguel Medina (WR/DB), Hamilton Chadwell (OL/DL), Charlie Terry (OL/DL), Eli Morris (QB/DB), and Kristian Hughley (WR/DB).

Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A. New start, new schedule, new staff.

Q. What will keep you up at night?

A. Keeping our guys healthy and confident.

Q. What can you build on from last year?

A. Returning seniors are solid, and everyone on the roster has game experience.

Q. Any lessons learned from last year?

A. We have a lot of guys who’ve stuck it out and truly love the game and each other.

Q. Will we see anything different this year?

A.  Offense will be multiple. Defense will base out of an even front but will feature multiple sub-packages. For special teams, we believe in being fundamentally sound.

Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A. We are par for our conference with our starters, but really need to focus on creating depth and putting guys in positions to be successful.

 

Coach’s View

Our administration did a great job of putting together a schedule that is competitive and will help us prepare for a very tough conference schedule. Our first three games are all home, and an early bye week in week four will hopefully allow us to get to know who we are as a team before a tough road schedule.
