Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?

A: Old. More juniors and seniors than in the past.

Q: What will be the keys to your success?

A: Development of depth and consistency. 

Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A: Mason Turner (QB/DB), Will Bates (OL/DL), Justin Baker (WR/DB), and Tyler Locklear (RB/LB).

Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A: Experience. A lot of our guys have played varsity football. 

Q: What will keep you up at night?

A: Depth and injuries.

Q: What can you build on from last year?

A: Competing for four quarters.

Q: Any lessons learned from last year?

A: Enjoy the chance to play.

Q: Will we see anything different this year?

A. Not really.

Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A: Better than it has been.

Coach’s View

With a lot of older players
on the team, the expectation is much higher. Our guys gained some confidence last year, and they believe they can compete week in and week out. Developing depth and staying healthy will be the keys to being able to reach goals and take the program to a different level.
