Coach Ralph Potter
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. We will have only three starters back on defense. Offensively, we have a lot of experience returning, but we lack experience at wide out. We are hoping to have excellent leadership from our seniors.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. We will have to commit to doing things the right way and hold one another accountable.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. DeAngelo Hardy (QB/DB), Jay Hardy (TE/DL), LeDarrius Mason (RB/TE/LB), Derrick Stoudemire (OL/DL), Adam Smith (OL/DL), Trey Phillips (OL), TJ Mason (OL/DL), and Caleb Jones (WR/DB).
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. Returning QB and RB, plus a veteran offensive line.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. I sleep pretty well.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. Excellent senior leadership.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. Not really.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. We should be the same, but hopefully improved.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. We don’t have great top-end speed. We’re pretty quick though.
Coach’s View
We will have to get our inexperienced players up to speed in a hurry. We have two big region games against Brentwood Academy and Knox Catholic in weeks three and five.
