Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. We are different than most McCallie teams. We will have many linemen, but we’ll be thin in the skill positions.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. The quality of senior leadership.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Brandon Benn (Sr., WR/DB), Quindarius Dunnigan (Sr., RB/LB), and Deangelo Hardy (Jr., QB/DB).
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. We will have some experience.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. As always, our difficult schedule.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. I hope that our seniors will lead with the same wisdom and character that the 2017 seniors did.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. Nothing too different. Hopefully we will always improve.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. Not as fast as we have been.
Coach’s View
We will have more experience than last year. If our young guys continue to develop, we have a chance to be good. It really depends upon the culture of our team, which will be established by the seniors.
