Coach Charles Fant

Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?

A: The 2016 team is well-prepared. We have extremely fast players in skill positions, along with solid players on the offensive and defensive front lines.

Q: What will be the keys to your success?

A: We need to play pressure defense and get the ball to our playmakers.

Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A: Patrick Johnson (Sr., TE/LB), Calvin Sims (Sr. RB/SS), and Sam Stovall (Jr., OL/DT).

Q: What are your biggest reasons for Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 11.31.54 AMoptimism?

A: We have great leaders on this football team.

Q: What will keep you up at night?

A: Not utilizing our speed properly.

Q: What can you build on from last year?

A: Our defense became a strength of our football team, so we’ll continue to build and sharpen our defensive skills.

Q: Any lessons learned from last year?

A: We need to increase our team strength and explosiveness if we want to reach the playoffs and succeed.

Q: Will we see anything different this year?

A: No, we’ll have the same schemes as last year.

Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A: We have very fast players at the skill positions. We’ll play a pressure defense and up-tempo offense to maximize this speed.

Coach’s View

This is the current coaching staff’s second year together, so we’re all excited to see how that aspect affects the team. We’re also eager to see how our players perform under coach Chandler Tygard’s defensive leadership for a second year. I’m running the offensive strategy again and am very excited to attempt to turn those defensive forced turnovers into points.
