Coach Mac Bryan

Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?

A. We return 7 starters on offense and 7 on defense. We will have a good deal of experience.

Q. What will be the keys to your success?

A. Development of depth at all positions. Junior quarterback gaining experience. Finding a new kicker and punter.

Ooltewah.StatsQ. Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A. Zaire Bruner (Sr., OL), Brandon Davis (Sr., OL), Tyler Stafford (Sr., OL), Andrew Manning (Sr., WR/DB), Jake Sullivan (Sr., DB/Special Teams), Rondarius Wash (Sr., DL), and Jake Bratton (Sr., DL).

Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A. Returning a good number of starters from a good team last year. Team speed is good, and we have more size in the lines that we have had in the past.

Q. What will keep you up at night?

A.  We must develop a new punter and kicker. We have to find quality depth at a number of places. We must avoid injuries.

Q. What can you build on from last year?

A. We played our best football from week 7 and continued to improve during the playoff run.

Q. Will we see anything different this year?

A. Basic schemes will not change. We will see what parts of our system fit this group of players best.

Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A. Team speed is good. Sincere Quinn at RB has dynamic speed. Kyrell Sanford, Tylan and Tahj Cargle, Andrew Manning, and Jake Sullivan are fast players.

Coach’s View
The move up to 6A will present a challenge. Our schedule is very difficult and each game will present a quality opponent. We hope to be able to compete as we have in 5A but must find depth and avoid injuries. Our numbers are very good. Our players have always had a great work ethic and that must continue.
