Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?

A: I would describe our team as talented and athletic.

Q: What will be the keys to your success?

A: All teams will experience adversity, and our success will be determined by the grit our players show to push through despite the various challenges a season brings.

Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A: In my experience, the senior class typically sets the tone for the season. That can be good or bad, but I’m confident that our seniors will lead in a positive way.Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 9.21.54 AM

Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A: We’re returning key players on both sides of the ball.

Q: What will keep you up at night?

A: Wondering if we’ll be willing to do all the little things correctly that will help us succeed when we’re against tough competition.

Q: What can you build on from last year?

A: We felt like we finished strong with a close game in the playoffs against a top five ranked team.

Q: Any lessons learned from last year?

A: Don’t take anything for granted.

Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A: We have great overall team speed, which should be an advantage for us.

Coach’s View

The team ended 2015 with a lot of confidence, which has carried through to offseason workouts and spring practice. The players are working hard every day, and we as coaches are now pushing them to focus on the small details that can make our team better. If we continue to improve those little things and keep the confidence and enthusiasm we had at the end of 2015, then we have the potential for a solid 2016 football season.
