Coach Wayne Turner

Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?

A. We have a lot of experience in skill positions and are highly athletic.

Q. What will be the keys to your success?

A. Developing quality depth in the offensive line and avoiding injury.

Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?

Tyner.StatsA. Ke’Un Webb (Sr., RB), Rah’le High (Sr., RB), Jeremy Elston (Sr., RB/S), Tracey Justice (Sr., G), Tyon Young (Jr., FB), Jerry McCrary (Sr., T), Jaylen Bowens (Sr., QB), Jeremiah Batiste (So., WR), and Martavius Ryals (So., QB).

Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A. The amount of quality experience and the ability to execute.

Q. What will keep you up at night?

A.  Injuries to the offensive line.

Q. What can you build on from last year?

A. The number of returners and lack of mistakes from last year’s team.

Q. Any lessons learned from last year?

A. We folded in games late last year, so we’ll need to succeed in those crucial situations this season.

Q. Will we see anything different this year?

A. We’ll basically be the same team with just a few minor adjustments.

Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A. In all the skill positions, we’ll be exceptional, especially in the secondary.

Coach’s View
Since the re-classification, we think we can compete well against regional opponents. The non-regional opponents’ games should keep us on our toes and make us a better team. We’re very optimistic on both sides of the ball coming out of the spring and summer.
