Coach Ron Cox
Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?
A: Our players are stronger and very eager to build on the program’s first two wins last year.
Q: What will be the keys to your success?
A: Staying healthy and injury-free throughout the year.
Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A: Our skill positions are a strength. We have great depth there. We are two or three deep at all of our back positions and at wide receiver.
Q: What will keep you up at night?
A: We don’t have many linemen, so our lack of experienced players in offensive and defensive line positions is a concern.
Q: What can you build on from last year?
A: We won our first two games as a program last year, and we look forward to building on that.
Q: Any lessons learned from last year?
A: Six-inch splits work better than two-foot splits on the offensive line.
Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A: We have a couple of backs this year who can break plays open. If we can give those guys space or help them get to the outside, they can be exciting.
We’re physically much stronger than we’ve ever been, and we believe we’ll have several opportunities to win games this year. Our goal is to win more region games with Team 4, which is what we call this year’s team.
