Coach Curt Jones
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. This is going to be a team in transition. We lost 16 very
productive seniors from the ’18 team, but we have a strong junior and senior class for the upcoming season.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. Having the kids with playing experience help us teach the new athletes how we operate in our system.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Hunter Jones (RB/LB), Kelvin McGhee (QB/DB), Adrian Landess (OL/DL), Marquis Ray (RB/DB), and Bailey Sublett (RB/DB).
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. Lots of team speed and the willingness to play with a reckless abandon on defense.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Making sure our super group of freshmen follow our team leaders’ direction.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. Learning how to overcome adversity.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. Take nothing for granted.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. No, we will be consistent in our approach to the program and the process.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. We have above average team speed. We are excited about some of our multi-sport athletes who have joined football this year.
Coach’s View
Our success will be earned when the seniors teach the newcomers what is expected and how to perform to the expectation within the process.
