Q & A With Coach Joe Banks

chattanooga preparatory school football coach

Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?

A: Young, enthusiastic, and resilient to adversity.

Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A: Camper Coulter (QB), Ke’Juan Craddock (WR), Dommonic Johnson (WR/LB), Jaelen Banks (OL/DL), Marquis “Duece” Gardner (RB/S), Ashton Jordan (OL/DL), and LonDeon Kellogg (WR/DB).

Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A: Our team is young, and we have a strong brotherhood here. It’s a game of patience for our young men now.

Q: What will keep you up at night?

A: We are fighting to find a practice field and struggling with logistics. We’ve played all away games the previous two years. This adds an additional layer we have to focus on outside of coaching our young men.

Q: What can you build on from last year?

A: Continue to play with confidence. We have freshmen and sophomores competing with older guys.

Q: Any lessons learned from last year?

A: Through adversity we will get better together.

Q: Will we see anything different this year?

A: Our young men are growing in size and maturity. With that growth, we aim to improve in all facets of our game.

Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A: Our skill positions have good top-end speed and acceleration. We look to take advantage of those matchups this year.
