Coach Caleb Bagley
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. Ready to turn the corner.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. Limiting big plays on defense and improving in the red zone
on offense.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Our seniors. These are kids who have been all-in since our staff arrived two years ago.
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. Progress we showed last year, coupled with a great off-season.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Depth on the line of scrimmage.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. We broke several school records and had more “scoreboard success,” but we have to finish.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. Details matter! We feel like it cost us two more games we were in a position to win.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. No.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. We will be faster than we’ve been the past two years, but it’s still not considered a strength.
Coach’s View
We compete in a tough region with many well-coached teams. We feel like we have been heading in the right direction for a couple years, and now it’s time to turn the corner. Last year, we showed ability to compete and broke the losing streak that has been here for far too long. Our kids and community are starting to believe that you can win football games here – now we’ve got to go make it happen.
