Q&A with Coach Jeff Poston
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. We are young in some places, especially on defense.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. We have to grow up quickly on the defensive side of the ball, and we need to manufacture some depth.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Bryson Shrader, Demetrius Walker, Brayden Jones, Gabriel Yarbrough, Jordan Castellanos, Brody Daniels, and Ryker Stanley.
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. We have a solid group of offensive linemen.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Probably my acid reflux.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. Our quarterback gained a year of experience after being thrown to the wolves last year.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. Always let the OL coach pick the restaurant when you’re on a scouting trip.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. Under Armour uniforms.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. Faster than you think, and slower than we want to be.
