Coach Tim James

A. Young and inexperienced. This is a rebuilding year.

Q. What will be the keys to your success?

A. The young guys must step up and replace those who graduated.

Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A. We’ll be looking to Division I prospect Alonzo Russell (Sr., QB/DB) to be the team’s inspirational leader. Jalen Boykin (Jr., RB/LB) and Joey Boles (Sr., OL/DL) are also key leaders.

Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A. Our winning tradition.

Q. What will keep you up at night?

A.  An inexperienced offensive line.

Q. Any lessons learned from last year?

A. We learned to never give up.

Q. Will we see anything different this year?

A. few new wrinkles.

Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A. Above average. This team will be able to put speed on the field.

Coach’s View

After three very successful seasons in which the Pioneers made deep drives into the playoffs, this year will see the Pioneers looking to replace many players on both sides of the ball. Graduation over the past two seasons has hit the Ridge hard. If the young kids can grow up in a hurry and our line will continue to develop, we can be competitive in our region.
