Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?

A. These are blue collar kids who have a tremendous work ethic. They put in a great offseason and have seen how successful teams work and practice.

Q. What will be the keys to your success?

A. As with every other team, we need to stay healthy and focus on getting better every day.

MC.StatsQ. Who will be your key leaders on the team?

A. Jacob Saylors (Sr., RB/DB), Kane Hale (Sr., WR/DB), Nick Capps (Sr., WR/DB), Seth McClain (Sr., RB/LB), Grayson Lawson (Sr., OL/LB), Jace Williamson (Sr., TE/OLB), Seth Lyle (Jr., OL/DL), Manny Burkes (Jr., OL/LB), and Isaiah Sampson (Jr,. QB/DB).

Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A. The players were extremely committed in the offseason process. They are very dedicated to this school, community, and program.

Q. What will keep you up at night?

A. Much like my own son, the decisions made by young men away from the fieldhouse. Kids today are bombarded with outside influences, and we want them to be aware of how an impulsive decision can impact their lives and our team.

Q. What can you build on from last year?

A. Learning how to prepare for the season and understanding the process of becoming a team.

Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A. We will have quality team speed overall, and we feel like any time we can utilize that team speed, it can give us an advantage.

Coach’s View
We play a tough schedule again
st some talented, well-coached football teams. We have to focus daily and improve with every practice. We have some holes to fill and kids have been working hard to fill them. We know if our team chemistry is solid and players sacrifice for each other, we can put the type of team on the field this school and community has come to expect.
