Coach Charles Fant
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. A physical team that will establish the run on offense and team tackle on defense.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. Being able to rely on our offensive and defensive lines as the strength of our team.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Dallas Brown will lead our defense as our middle linebacker. Jacob Brigman will anchor our offensive and defensive lines. Jeffery Watkins Jr. will be our workhorse offensively, and Hunter Hill will lead our special teams with his kicking strength.
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. We return most of our offensive and defensive lines, and several seniors
have three to four years of experience.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Finding a few more playmakers on offense.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. Most members of the team played in the state game two years ago, and
losing in the quarterfinals by one point is a motivator for off-season training.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. You have to have great practices late in the year to make a strong playoff run.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. We will look the same but are looking to throw the ball more.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. Our team speed will not be as fast as in previous years, but we will make up for that by playing up-tempo on offense and playing pressure defense.
Coach’s View
Being the two-time DII East region champions, we know the other teams in our region will double their efforts to find a way to defeat us. We will have some of the finest leaders and high character players we have ever had returning to ensure we continue to play at the highest level.
