Coach Scott Chandler
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. Overall a very young and inexperienced team.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. The offensive and defensive lines and the defensive secondary.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Christian Benoit (OL), Trey Johnson (OL), Josh Shevlin (LB), and Lane Moore (QB).
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. We return four of five starters on the offensive line, and our young guys are very athletic.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Hoping the young guys can adapt to having to play varsity and hoping the older guys who have not stepped up in the past will.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. I think our guys see the value of loving and caring for each other and putting others ahead of themselves.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. As long as there is time on the clock, we have a chance.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. No.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. Overall team speed will be average.
Coach’s View
We have a really strong schedule. We have seven playoff teams on the schedule, four region champs, a quarterfinalist, and a semifinalist. We are going to have to put our big boy pants on. But, our guys will look forward to the challenge, play hard, and compete. In the end, that is what we want our team to do: Play hard and compete.
