Coach Scott Chandler
Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. This year’s team will be replacing eight starters on both offense and defense. We will be very inexperienced.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. The type of leadership we get from our key players, inexperienced players playing to their full capabilities, and no injuries to key players.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. That is the big question concerning this football team.
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. If our key players buy into our culture, our whole team will. Our talent level is fine, but our chemistry will determine the result of the season.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Holding myself accountable for teaching our players to become the men that their parents, future wives, and future children will be proud of.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. Hopefully we learned that good leadership and team chemistry are as important, if not more important, as talent.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. We will be able to get under center some on offense this year.
Coach’s View
Our opportunities for success will come from two abilities – accountability and availability, along with our desire to make a commitment to excellence, to our teammates, to discipline, and to fundamentals.
