Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. We have a group of hardworking kids, and we hope that spills out onto the field on Friday nights.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. We have to be able to control the ball and keep away from turnovers.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. We have a good group of seniors who are leaders both on and off the field.
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. We have kids who got some good minutes last year in game situations.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Knowing you are trying to get all these high school student athletes to do what you have coached them.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. We were very disappointed in our final record last year, so that has ignited our team into a productive off-season.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. We talk a lot about finishing games; we had chances last year to put games away and didn’t.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. We will have the same concepts on the field that we did last year.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. If you watch how we play ball, we don’t have the fastest or biggest kids. We try to get all we can from our kids, and that has made us successful.
Our schedule has changed from the past two years. We are looking forward to the challenges that are ahead in the 2019 season. We are back to playing some old rivals that people in our area are excited about.
