Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?
A: This is the strongest and deepest team we have ever fielded.
Q: What will be the keys to your success?
A: Staying healthy. While we have depth this year, we are still short in a couple of key areas.
Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A: John Carlock (OL/DL), Nick Hall (WR/RB/DB), and Trey Bennett (OL/DL).
Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A: Last year was our best regular season finish in our short history, and we only lost three senior starters.
Q: What will keep you up at night?
A: Replacing a 2,000-yard passer and a 1,000-yard rusher, which were both firsts for us last season.
Q: What can you build on from last year?
A: Our players gained a lot of confidence last year and are learning how to win.
Q: Any lessons learned from last year?
A: Covid impacted us during the pre-season, and we were not ready for opening night. We are light years ahead this year of where we were last year.
Q: Will we see anything different this year?
A: Same schemes with a few new wrinkles.
Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A: Our speed is good, but we believe our strength is our offensive line. We expect this line to put this team on their backs and carry them through the season.
