Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. We will be an old, veteran football team with 30 juniors and seniors who have played a lot of football.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. Staying injury-free and developing depth.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Ronto Tipton (RB/DB), Dakota Blevins (OL/DT), Blaine Pittman (OL/DE), and Jaylyn Hubbard (WB/DB).
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. I think we have a very committed and hungry football team.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Fear of injuries at key positions and our schedule.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. We have been very close the last few years, and I think it has made us a hungry football team.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. We have to play our best in the big games because if you don’t, you lose.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. I think we have a lot of players who run extremely well, and we are really excited about how well a lot of our linemen run.
Our schedule will be a huge challenge with the addition of Red Bank and Meigs Co. to go along with the usual non-region games with Sequatchie Co., Marion Co., and Grundy Co. All of these games are against much larger schools and will be great tests to gauge where we are as a football team. And the region game with Whitwell, the defending state champion, will once again be a big challenge for us.
