Q. How would you characterize this year’s team?
A. Willing to work, working to learn, hungry to succeed.
Q. What will be the keys to your success?
A. Believing we can. Confidence in our self and our scheme. Discipline to play within those things.
Q. Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A. Kallum Lowe (LB), Jack Anderson (WR), Griffin Broome (ATH), Hayden Gibson (OL), Daniel Denton (WR/FS), Skyy Craig (FS), Noah Duprey (WR), Reid Gibson (WR), and Christian VanDusen (DL).
Q. What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A. Our players have a desire to do whatever we ask them to do. They are hungry to succeed and are working hard to do so.
Q. What will keep you up at night?
A. Depth/injuries are always the concern. We have to build depth on both sides of the ball.
Q. What can you build on from last year?
A. A lot of young players gained a lot of valuable experience. The bright lights will not bother them as juniors and seniors.
Q. Any lessons learned from last year?
A. I have learned from watching film that our kids can play ball. We as a coaching staff just have to put them in the best situation to succeed.
Q. Will we see anything different this year?
A. We will find what we are good at, then work to be great at it.
Q. How would you characterize your team’s speed?
A. We have plus speed at each level of our defense as well as several offensive weapons with the ability to be explosive.
Our success will be based on coaches instilling a belief and confidence in our players by putting them in the best position to be successful. We play solid, established programs in our region. Each will test our system/players and prepare us for football in November. Our non-region schedule is strong too, with great programs like Marion Co. and Bradley Central.
