Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?

A: This year’s team is senior heavy, with several starters returning on both sides of the ball.

Q: What will be the keys to your success?

A: The keys for our success will be playing great defense, being balanced on offense, and having solid special teams.

A: Kolten Gibson (Jr., QB), Alex King (Sr., RB/LB), Bryce Nunnelly (Sr., WR/OLB), Cooper Melton (Sr., WR/OLB), Zach Eslinger (Sr., WR/DB), Chris Ogle (Sr., OL/DL), Cody Morfield (Sr., FB/LB), Skyler Swafford (Sr., LB), and Grayson Rountree (Sr., DB).

Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?

A: We have so many returning players this year, and I’m very proud of how this team has worked in the offseason.

Q: What will keep you up at night?

A: Our tough schedule.

Q: What can you build on from last year?

A: The principle that by playing together as a team, we can accomplish great things.

Q: Any lessons learned from last year?

A: We must show up to play week in, week out.

Q: How would you characterize your team’s speed?

A: Our team speed should be better than average, and that should help us in all areas.

Coach’s View

Hopes are high that this is the year for Walker Valley to get over the hump with several key starters returning for the 2016 season. Our schedule is tough, but the team is preparing very hard and continuing to come closer together as a family.
